Today I had a client who was carrying an all to familiar label. I won't disclose him or what the label was, but I will say that his situation is not uncommon. When we are given, and take on, a label of any description that is condescending, negative and/or uncomfortable, it can take quite a bit to shift and lose it
When it is time to let it go and find a much better description of ourselves, a good old 'therapy' session is a good thing to have, just like we did this morning.
This was the case for my client this morning. We worked on ridding him of the label he had been given, and to some degree taken on, and then worked to replace this label with a more empowered and truthful sense of self. Oftentimes, the labels that are given to us, are given with little or no acceptance or consideration of the full picture of what is going on for that person.
I'm pleased to say that my client went away with a much more empowered sense of being and left the 'label' in the rubbish bin, where it belonged.
