Is feeling good about life a choice? Is the way we feel each day, each moment a choice? This is an important question - but the answer that we choose to give may be even more important.
If we follow the notion that we create our own reality - then YES - it is certainly a choice. If we believe that some other, outer force - Karma - God - The Universe - directs and makes things happen to us - then we have a different answer and a different belief system.
Here is a small experiment to follow (if you choose to).
The next time that you are feeling a bit flat, grumpy, depressed or frustrated, take a few moments to choose to be in a different mood. Take a moment to see if you can choose and make yourself sit in a better frame of mind and mood.
If this is possible for you to do once, then theoretically, it should be possible for you to do this at any time. It is often by challenging ourselves to do a practical experiment that we get our answers, so go ahead - give it a try. If we can alter our moods, then why are we so dependant on mood altering drugs - both prescribed and un-prescribed? Why can't we just use our mind and our imagination?
I'll leave you to ponder these questions whilst I make the choice to go off and be happy eating my lunch!
